You call this a “sponsorship.” Do I have to pay for this opportunity?
Not in money. 
Basically, a sponsor is a business that is positioned as the benefactor of a particular free gift or bonus of the event. Kind of like those statements on PBS shows that say “this show was brought to you by …”
The way you pay to be a sponsor is by spreading the word of the event to your list of subscribers, Twitter followers, Facebook friends and any other way you can spread the word.
You mentioned that there are several ways I can be a sponsor. Can you give me an idea of what they are before I sign up?
Sure. There are basically four ways to be a sponsor of this event … and you can choose to do one or any combination of them … as long as there are open slots.
You can be a Amazon Best Seller Launch bonus provider. Your bonus will be promoted on the site during the event as an incentive to purchase the book during a specific time period. Your bonus will only be available to those who purchase the book.
You can be a party sponsor. You can sponsor one of the many hors d’oeuvres, party favors or party games available. This can be as simple as putting your branding on the item to offering an opt-in incentive for those who see your offer.
You can be a door prize provider. Provide something valuable that I can give away as a door prize for party participants and you’ll gain exposure to all who come along for the ride.
You can be a virtual book tour venue. Be my host on your blog, radio show, podcast, ezine, teleseminar … whatever works for you … during my virtual book tour. In return, you’ll gain exposure to a wider audience and provide interesting and valuable content to those on your list.
When will this event be taking place?
The virtual housewarming party will take place from Monday, March 15, 2010, through Sunday, March 21, 2010.
The Amazon Book Launch will take place Tuesday through Thursday during that week (March 16, 17 & 18).
The Virtual book tour is currently scheduled for March 15 through March 31. However, if there are enough venues who want to be a part of the launch, I may extend the dates.
